About
How Raleigh Key Pros works
Raleigh Key Pros is a free referral service for people in Raleigh, Cary and the rest of Wake County. We are not a locksmith, and we don't do lock work. When you call or send a request, we pass it to an independent local locksmith business that serves your area and holds a North Carolina locksmith license, and they contact you to price and do the work.
How we make money
The locksmith pays us for the introduction. You never pay us anything. We don't set the locksmith's prices.
What we ask of the locksmith
- A current license from the North Carolina Locksmith Licensing Board, and the license number given when you ask.
- A real business name, given on the phone and on the invoice.
- The total price before work starts, trip fee included.
- An ID check before opening a home or car, or cutting a key to it.
- Non-destructive entry first, and a reason given before any drilling.
If your experience falls short of that, tell us at (984) 342-3191.
Check them yourself
You don't have to take our word for it. Ask for the business name and look it up on the board's Verify License page. How to check a North Carolina locksmith license.
Why we built it this way
Locksmith ads are a known target for lead-generation scams. The FTC and the BBB both warn about listings that quote a low fee and send whoever is available, and Raleigh has had its own cases. North Carolina's license law is a real tool against that, but only if people use it. We would rather you know what to expect, what it should cost, and how to check. How to spot a locksmith scam.
Where our information comes from
Every guide cites its sources at the end. The crime, housing and weather numbers are our own analysis of public data from the FBI, the US Census Bureau and NOAA. See the method.
